| :If he's talking about using the Endyne 9.5:1 (or whatever ratio) pistons, they're claimed to have reshaped piston tops that actually give the endynes detonation-resistance properties greater than even stock TT pistons. I haven't seen anything to verify this claim, but nothing to contradict it either. the quench area is different... combustion takes place centrally in chamber/cylinder. thats one of the benefits of the roller-wave theory of endyns design. for the theory; [ http://www.theoldone.com/components/pistons/ ] and from the rumors, and looks of Aliaz's endyn build (NOT just pistons tho, it's part of his overall package)... they seem to offer some serious potential. :But if the pistons work as they're supposed to, then he wouldn't have to sacrifice max boost, and would get better spoolup and a broader powerband. you still sacrifice max boost :Also, water injection could be used to compensate for higher compression. "compensate" or it will make boosted applications more efficient :As for why higher compression pistons will give better spoolup, the more the gas/air mixture is compressed, the more energy it will have when it is detonated, translating into higher velocity exhaust gasses. torque.... more torque off the line... the additional exhaust energy is just a bonus that benefits turbo applications.
